Meet the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Neo. It looks like a Galaxy Note 3, but it’s a tad smaller, has a lower resolution display, and a different CPU. But like its big brother, the Note 3 Neo features a Samsung S Pen for writing, drawing, and using other pen apps.

Announced by Samsung Poland, the Galaxy Note 3 Neo appears to be a cheaper alternative to Samsung’s flagship Note phone.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Neo features a 5.5 inch, 1280 x 720 pixel display, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of storage, an 8MP rear camera, 2MP front-facing camera, an SD card slot, and a 3100mAh battery.

Samsung will offer 2 models. The 3G version has a 1.6 GHz quad-core CPU. But there’s also a model with 4G LTE and a 6-core processor.

The hexa-core chip pairs two 1.7 GHz ARM Cortex-A15 CPU cores with four 1.3 GHz ARM Cortex-A7 CPU cores. The lower-power processor cores can handle most daily activities and the Cortex-A15 components kick in when you need a performance boost.

Samsung reportedly has no plans to offer the Galaxy Note 3 Neo in the US or UK. But if you’re in a country where it is available it should be a bit cheaper than the full Note 3 smartphone which has a full HD display, 3GB of RAM, up to 64GB of storage, and a 13MP camera.

  1. Looks great, except for the Geeky Stylus! Stylus’s are so Last Millenium! I can use an iPad with only one finger. Guess which one?

  2. Does it have the same unsolved problems (e.g. Wi-Fi instability) that have been noted by S3, S4, Note 2 and Note 3 owners using the December release of Android 4.3?

  3. I was hoping the Note Mini rumors were about a Note + Wacom digitizer that’s the same physical size as the S4. Too bad.

  4. The specs still sound pretty good to me. They are probably better than most phones actually being used right now. Too bad it is not coming to the States.

    1. Yeah, sounds promising. I wonder if they were worried it would cannibalize their higher end version?
