Smartwatch pioneer Pebble offers one of the most popular wearable devices meant to run third party apps. But the original Pebble isn’t exactly the most attractive thing you can strap to your wrist. So Pebble is launching a new version with a bit more flare (and a price tag that’s a lot higher) called the Pebble Steel.

The Pebble Steel runs all the same apps as its sibling, but it has a stainless steel design, a scratch-resistant Corning Gorilla Glass display and a few other premium touches.

How premium? The Pebble Steel sells for $249, which is about $100 more than the original Pebble.

The new model has metal buttons, it’s waterproof up to 5 ATM, which should be good enough for swimming or showering without taking the watch off.

Pebble is also including a new RGB LED light on this model. At the moment all it does is display charging status for your device, but in the future third party apps might make user of the LED for other purposes.

Like the original Pebble, the new model is designed to work with Android and iOS phones, letting you view notifications and other data from your phone and manage watch faces and other third party apps using a mobile app on your phone.

The Pebble Steel is available for order now, and comes in a choice of brushed stainless steel or black finishes. It’s expected to start shipping on January 28th.
