Pre-paid US wireless carrier Boost Mobile is now offering one of the first so-called “phablets” to sell for $300 or less. The Boost Max is a mid-range handset from ZTE for folks who want a phone with a nearly tablet-sized screen… but who don’t care much about bleeding specs.
The phone features a 5.7 inch, 1280 x 720 pixel IPS Gorilla Glass display, a 1.2 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon dual-core processor, an 8MP rear camera, and 1MP front-facing camera. It runs Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.
The Boost Max has 1GB of RAM, 8GB of storage, and a 3200maH battery and supports WiFi, Bluetooth, and Sprint’s 3G and 4G LTE networks.
Boost offers cheaper phones as well as models with more powerful processors or sharper displays. The $130 Moto G might fall into both categories. But the Boost Max is now officially the biggest phone you can get from the carrier.
