Chinese tablet maker Ramos is reportedly working on a 10 inch tablet with an Intel Atom Bay trail processor, making it one of the first Chinese tablets I’m aware of to feature Intel’s new low-power, moderate-performance chip.

It’s called the Ramos i10, and the tablet is expected to feature an Atom Z3770D processor, Windows 8.1 and Android.

Now that you can pick up a high-quality, name-brand Android tablet in the US for around $200 or less, I find myself spending less time paying attention to Chinese brands such as Ramos, Cube, and Chuwi. But every now and again one of those companies does something to surprise me.

Ramos has a history of offering decent devices at relatively low prices. It should be interesting to see how much the Ramos i10 costs and how it performs.

The tablet should sport s 10.1 inch, 1920 x 1200 pixel display, 2GB of RAM, and 32GB of storage. The closest existing tablet I can think of to those specs would be the Dell Venue 11 Pro, but I suspect the Ramos model would have a lower price — Dell’s tablet sells for $500 and up.

  1. This looks awesome but it all comes down to dollars. With many nice tablets at 200 its hard to justify spending more. For 400 everyone could just get a lower end laptop so whats the point? This is where the Surface Pro leaves me mystified. Not as powerful as an i5 Laptop but priced in that range. ??? Go figure.

  2. I wonder if they will make a premium version with a wacom digitizer… one can dream can’t they?

  3. I’m still waiting for a cheap x86 tablet capable of running linux… Fingers crossed this is the one.

    1. This one could be very well be it. This one has intel graphics, I think Gen7 architecture (HD graphics 4000?) with perfomance similar to Adreno 320, but able to play video at 1920×1080.

The CPU part is more powerful than Snapdragon 800.

Having a 64Bit CPU it would awesome to have more than 2GB RAM, with Linux it would be the definitive gadget.

  4. Please do a review on this slate when it comes out, I’m not quite sure wither or not to trust Ramos, and the promise of dual-booting,

  5. I’m sold, although it would just be nice if a company like Archos took up the tablet, so at least I could have a brand-name on it
