Samsung offers phones and tablets in all sorts of shapes and sizes, and soon the company may also expand its horizons by extending its price range to cover “dirt cheap.”

The folks at SamMobile report that Samsung may be working on cheaper versions of its phones including a Galaxy Note 3 Lite and Galaxy Grant Lite. And Samsung may also have a Galaxy Tab 3 Lite in the works.

It’s expected to sell for 100 Euros, which is less than $140 US — although it’d probably sell for closer to $100 if and when it hits the States.

Right now the cheapest tablet Samsung sells is the Galaxy Tab 3 7.0, which usually goes for $169 to $199. It’s not clear exactly what corners the company plans to cut in order to offer a cheaper tablet. But screen quality and processor performance seem like good places to start.

We might hear more about this tablet at the Consumer Electronics Show in January.

  1. This is something to look forward to! For most users, the new samsung phones and tablets have too much power. I just hope they keep the same form factor.

    1. My wife and I don’t spend much time on our 7″ tablets now that we have Note 2s.
