Asus appears to be working on a new laptop/tablet hybird featuring an Intel Haswell processor and possibly the ability to dual boot Windows and Android operating systems (or perhaps there are multiple versions of the tablet, one with Android and the other with Windows 8.1).
German site MobileGeeks found evidence of the upcoming Asus TD300LA from several sources, but we should learn more about the device at the Consumer Electronics Show in January. Asus is expected to launch its 2014 product lineup at a press event on January 6th.

It looks like the Asus TD300LA will be a 2-in-1 device, which means there’s a tablet and a detachable keyboard dock. The computer will reportedly be available with a choice of Intel Core i3-4020Y or Core i7-4610Y processor.
Both chips are quad-core processors with Intel HD graphics and they’re based on Intel’s 4th-generation Core, or “Haswell” technology, which means they’re relatively low power chips that offer long battery life as well as speedy performance.
In other words, the Asus TD300LA will likely be faster (and more expensive) than this year’s Asus T100TA 2-in-1 tablet with an Intel Atom “Bay Trail” processor.
But at least one source suggests the new tablet will have a 1366 x 768 pixel display, which makes me hope the tablet has an 11.6 inch or smaller screen.
MobileGeeks also found benchmark results for the tablet running both Android and Windows, which suggests that this could be a system designed to run both operating systems.
And please put 4g Lte
10″ or smaller please. The Android part of the rumor can be false since I won’t use it especially if it’s a dual boot system.

If there were an Android app I can’t live without then I’d rather have an Android runtime (Bluestacks or Sailfish’s version) for running apps directly or a quick suspend and switch between Android and Windows (either active suspend to RAM or non-active suspend to SSD) solutions.
Good thing there aren’t any Android apps I really need since all the ones I use are just gimped apps that I make do with.
I am looking to run Lubuntu – and be mobile. Android and windows booth fall short, Ubuntu (regular) is too heavy… just need my apps. With Lubuntu, on netbooks, it is very fast and light. Need to run Jitsi, Retoshare, Libreoffice, Firefox or Chromium browser, Thunderbird, VLC, Gwenview (with Kipi Plugins), Gimp, KGrab, Qualculate, K3B, and both PCManFM along with Dolphin… My kit more mobile would be interesting vs all the Android or Windows BS (just want to keep it very simple).
If it does end up as a dual boot system running Win 8.1/Android I may pick one up!
It seems like an excellent way to use one while exploring the other or simply using both OSs to their respective strengths.
A 1366×768 pixel display will make me cringe. Firstly, this hybrid probably won’t be cheap. Secondly, is a keyboard so important that I would want to sacrifice display quality? Many of the new cheap tablets have 1200×800 displays. Some decent tablets have HD (1080p) or higher. When buying these kinds of gadgets, it is always wise to make sure you are satisfied with the screen resolution, brightness and overall quality because you will be stuck looking at it for a while. Once you use a cell phone or tablet with a decent display, it is hard to go back. This is one of the reasons why Apple sold so many iPads.
