Acer’s adding a new 27 inch monitor to its Smart Display lineup. The Acer TA272HUL is a touchscreen display with a 2560 x 1440 pixel resolution and you can use it as a monitor and touch panel for a PC thanks to an HDMI input.
But you can also use the display as a standalone Android device for surfing the web, playing games, or watching videos, among other things.
The Acer TA272HUL features an NVIDIA Tegra 4 ARM Cortex-A15 quad-core processor, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of storage, and Android 4.2 Jelly Bean software.
That gives it a faster processor and higher resolution screen than any Acer Smart Display released to date.
It’s not clear whether this model will be sold internationally, but it appears to be priced at a little under $500 in Taiwan.
The Smart Display features support for 10-point multitouch input and features 178 degree viewing angles. It has built-in WiFi, Bluetooth, and Ethernet. There are 2 HDMI ports, 2 USB 3.0 ports, a full-sized SD card slot, a headset jack, and 3W Harman Kardon speakers.
