Nokia is holding a press event in Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates on October 22nd. While the company hasn’t said exactly what it’ll unveil, the tech blogsophere has its heart set on a tablet.

But it looks like Nokia might have even grander ambitions. This week the company posted a picture on the company blog showing three devices: a smartphone, a tablet, and a laptop.

Nokia Abu Dhabi event

Does this mean that Nokia is going to launch a laptop and/or tablet on October 22nd? Maybe. The company could also be announcing new software or cloud-based services that work across platforms or help you sync data between your devices.

Microsoft is also in the process of acquiring Nokia, so maybe we’re looking at Microsoft devices (or simply devices running Microsoft software).

But don’t be surprised if Nokia pulls out a Windows RT tablet and a Windows notebook in a few weeks.

  1. Since each device has the same picture, it looks to me as a message of scalability. Each picture is appropriately scaled and not stretched. Hopefully we’ll see the unification of the Windows PC and Phone App Stores

  2. Simpler answer is that they plan to stream the event to tablets, phones and computers. At least, that’s what I got out of the pic…
