Ubuntu 13.10 hit the streets this week, and it’s the first release to officially support phones and tablets as well as traditional PCs. The Ubuntu Touch software is still pretty rough around the edges — there aren’t many apps, it’s not the most stable mobile OS, you can’t run desktop apps on an external display yet, and you can’t buy a phone with the OS preloaded yet.

But hey, you can install it on your own phone if you want to try it out for some reason… but you’ll probably just end up going back to Android when you’re done, so make sure to backup your device first.

  1. The way you wrote that, means that I read it as ‘Ubuntu TV’ was here .. grumbles.
I am not happy with Liliputing. It’s so Americanised, to the point of not taking about hardware hacks that
I view Liliputing.com as a contradiction in turn.
