Lilbits (10-10-2013): Twitter for Android tablet (singular)

10/10/2013 at 5:30 PM by Brad Linder 6 Comments

The Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Edition isn’t just a tablet with a ridiculously long name. It also has a great screen, a fast processor, more RAM than most tablets, and support for a digital pen.

Priced at $549 and up, the new Note is a bit expensive by Android tablet standards, but it’s just a bit pricier than an entry-level iPad, and it offers plenty of things that you can’t get with Apple’s tablet including support for running multiple apps in small windows on the same screen and pressure-sensitive input for writing and drawing with a pen.

It’s also the first Android device to support Twitter’s new Android tablet app.

Just purchased one today. I am giving Android one more shot before the new Windows 8.1 tablets hit the stores. The Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 (what a name) is probably as good as the Androids get.

It looks as though there are some improvements since the last model. I will find out tomorrow.

First thoughts. It’s made in VietNam, not China.

More to come.

Well, I am thinking that the new Windows 8 tablets will not get here soon enough for me. There is a lot going on with the newer interface on the Note 10.1, and some of the apps won’t work. Android does have a lot of catching up to do with the functionality of the system. It may be pleasing to the eyes, but when things don’t work right, no amount of eye candy will help.
