The latest Asus Transformer Pad tablet goes on sale in the US soon, and it’s already up for pre-order from at least one retailer. The Transformer Pad Infinity TF701T is a 10 inch Android tablet with a high resolution, 2560 x 1600 pixel display.
Like other members of the Transformer Pad family, the new tablet gets its name from the optional keyboard dock that lets you use the tablet like a laptop. But unlike earlier models, the TF701T has a speedy NVIDIA Tegra 4 ARM Cortex-A15 quad-core processor.
Update: The Asus Transformer Pad Infinity TF701T is now available from Amazon for $449.
A 32GB tablet sells for $449, while you can order a tablet plus keyboard dock for $599.
Asus also makes a 64GB model, but pricing for that version isn’t yet available.
The Asus Transformer Pad TF701T tablet has 2GB of RAM, a microSD card alot, micro HDMI port, and headset jack. It has a 31Whr battery that Asus says is good for up to 13 hours of battery life. If you add the keyboard dock you should get up to 4 more hours of run time.
There’s a full-sized USB 3.0 port in the keyboard dock, as well as a touchpad below the keyboard.
The tablet has a 5MP rear camera and a 1.2MP front-facing camera and support for Miracast wireless display technology.
Trusted Reviews has posted one of the first reviews of the tablet, and for the most part they seem to like it.
