Tired of smartphones with widescreen displays? LG has been offering models with 4:3 screen aspect ratios for the last few years, and now the company’s LG Vu 3 may be the most impressive phone available with a 4:3 screent.
It features Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, 2GB of RAM, and runs Android 4.2 Jelly Bean software. The phone also has a large 5.2 inch display.
LG introduced the phone in South Korea. There’s no word on US pricing or availability yet.
The handset sports a 1280 x 960 pixel IPS dislay, a 2.26 GHz Snapdragon 800 quad-core processor with 480 MHz Adreno 330 graphics, a 13MP rear camera, and a 2.1MP front-facing camera.
It supports Wifi, Bluetooth, 3G HSPA+ and 4G LTE. It also features a stylus which slides into the case when you’re not using it.
While the speedy processor and high resolution cameras help set the phone apart, it’s the screen that’s its most distinctive feature. Not only is this the most powerful phone with a 4:3 aspect ratio… it’s one of the only phones with a 4:3 aspect ratio.

With that aspect ratio it looks like a tablet. Glad to see more options in the cell phone market.
This doesn’t look like it could possibly fit in my pocket.
Wow, just what I’ve been looking for! I’ll just have to await US introduction.
