HP is rolling out a new line of affordable portable notebooks with detachable displays. The HP Pavilion x2 line of devices are basically laptops with removable screen portions which you can use as Windows 8 tablets.
Prices are expected to start at $600 when the HP Pavilion 11 x2 and HP Pavilion 13 x2 go on sale November 17th.
HP Pavilion x2
At those prices, you won’t get the premium touches you might expect from the higher-end HP Spectre series, such as a full HD screen, backlit keyboard, or a metal chassis. The HP Pavilion x2 lineup is all plastic.
The HP Pavilion 11 x2 features an 11.6 inch, 1366 x 768 pixel touchscreen display and an Intel Bay Trail processor.
HP Pavilion 13 x2
The HP Pavilion 13 x2 sports a 13.3 inch, 1366 x 768 pixel touchscreen display and a choice of an AMD A6 processor or an Intel Haswell chip.
Both models feature at least 64GB of solid state storage (which hangs out in the tablet portion of the computer). The 13 inch model also supports an optional 500GB hard drive in the keyboard section.

Id like to see these coming with decent build quality, good battery life and higher resolution screens, till then they are of no interest to me ;)!
Without a full-sized USB port on the tablet section it is useless for me (and I suspect many others.)
