One of the best ways to score a good deal on a notebook or table is to pick up last year’s tech. While the 2013 Google Nexus 7 is a pretty great tablet for $229 and up, the 2012 model is still a pretty good device with a 7 inch, 1280 x 800 pixel display, an NVIDIA Tegra 3 quad-core processor, and the latest Android software.

Better yet, you can pick up a refurbished model with 32GB of storage for just $150, which is more than $100 less than the price of a 2013 model with that much storage.

If you’re looking for an even cheaper option, today’s roundup of tech bargains includes some great prices on the B&N NOOK HD+ and the original Amazon Kindle Fire. Meanwhile TigerDirect has one of the best prices I’ve ever seen for a 2-pack of 8GB USB flash drives.

  1. Where are all the Windows device deals? I figure that since the new ones will be coming out soon, the merchants would be happy to dump the old stuff.

    1. I think those Zenbook prices are pretty spectacular for 2.5 pound Windows laptops with 5+ hours of battery life, Core i5 processors, and in one case, a 1600 x 900px display.
