Toshiba recently introduced a line of 3 new Android tablets with prices ranging from $300 to $600. But they all had one thing in common: 10 inch displays.

Now it looks like Toshiba may be working on a new low-cost tablet with a 7 inch screen. The folks at Notebook Italia spotted benchmark results for an unannounced device called the Toshiba AT7-A.

Toshiba AT7A

The tablet has a 1024 x 600 pixel display, which is a pretty good indication that it’ll have a 7 inch screen and a low price tag.

It also sports a 1.6 GHz processor, ARM Mali-400 graphics, and Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean software.

That’s about all we know for certain, but the Toshiba AT7-A gets pretty respectable benchmark scores, suggesting it has a reasonably fast ARM Cortex-A7 or Cortex-A9 processor.

  1. Would be nice if this time they don’t lock it down so much that there’s no chance of root.
