Lenovo is introducing a new desktop PC that’s not much larger than a DVD drive, but which packs the power of a full-sized PC. The Lenovo ThinkCentre M93p is available with up to an Intel Core i7 Haswell processor.

It should be available soon for $749 and up.

Lenovo also offers a line of small desktop computers at part of its consumer-oriented IdeaCentre line. But the latest models are only available with Intel Celeron processors.

The ThinkCentre M93p features an “Always On” USB port which you can use to charge devices even when the computer is off, it’s available with an optional solid state hybrid drive which offers a combination of speedy performance and large storage capacity, and there’s an optional VESA mount which you can use to attach the computer to the back of a desktop to create a sort of all-in-one PC effect.

If you’re not hung up on getting a system that’s less than 1.4 inches thin, Lenovo also offers a “Small Form Factor Pro” model which has dual graphics, support for dual hard drives, and still measures about half the size of a typical desktop tower PC.

  1. @ardee With these, it’s all about the support. Also, these will offer vPro. Whole ‘nother class of unit compared to Asus.

  2. I guess Lenovo upgraded the M92 to have Haswell. You could configure it with an Ivy Bridge Core i5 since last year.

  3. ASUS and others have sold these for a while now (VESA mount and all). They even come in bare-bones SKUs in the $180 range. The only thing new I see here is maybe the newer CPU instead of Intel Atom or low-end AMD devices… and the large price tag.
