Proving that big things can come in small packages, Digital Storm is packing the power of a pretty serious gaming rig into a laptop with a 13.3 inch display. It’s called the VELOCE, and it’s due out July 17th for $1535.
That’s a pretty hefty price for a Windows laptop, but you get an awful lot of machine for your money. It has a full HD display, an Intel Haswell processor, and discrete graphics, among other things.
The Digital Storm VELOCE features include:
- 13.3 inch, 1920 x 1080 pixel display
- Intel Core i7-4800MQ processor
- NVIDIA GTX 765M graphics
- Windows 8
- 8GB RAM
- 750GB 7200RPM hard drive with 8GB SSD
- 3 USB 3.0 ports
- DVD burner
- HDMI and VGA
- WiFi and Bluetooth
The laptop is a bit thicker and heavier than your average 13 inch ultrabook, measuring about 1.25 inches thick and weighing about 4.6 pounds. But it’s also a lot more powerful than your typical ultrabook.
Unfortunately the press release doesn’t make any battery life claims. Gaming laptops don’t generally do very well in that area, although the move from Ivy Bridge to Haswell processor technology should help a bit.

It’s worth mentioning that this is actually a Clevo W230ST that’s available from a load of resellers, but Digital Storm are the only ones who advertise heavily
