Apple’s iPad with Retina display is one of the most popular tablets around, even though at $499 and up it costs a few hundred dollars more than many Android tablets.

But if you’re looking to save a few bucks on the latest iPad models, Best Buy might have an opportunity. The company is offering discounts of $200 and up when you trade in an older iPad.

iPad 4

You’ll need to trade in an iPad 2 or 3rd-generation iPad. A 1st-generation model won’t make the cut.

In order to qualify, your trade-in must be in working condition and can’t have a cracked screen or water damage.

But if you’ve been holding onto your iPad 2 for a few years waiting for the right time to upgrade, a $200 trade-in discount could be a pretty good incentive.

Or you could just try selling your old iPad on eBay, where you may be able to get even more money for it. You just have to go through the hassle of listing and selling your device, not to mention splitting your earnings with eBay.

  1. Why not just sell it outright and get something close to market value?
