The Pandora TV Box is a device that sits on top of your TV and turns it into an Android-powered computer. It has a camera that faces forward, letting you use the device to make video calls. You can stream internet video or surf the web.

What makes this model special is that it comes with a wireless game controller and a wide range of ports that make plugging in extra hardware easy.

CNX Software reports that DealExtreme plans to sell the Pandora TV Box starting next week, but it’s already available from AliExpress for $145.

Update: It’s now available from DealExtreme for $124.

Pandora Box

The Pandora TV Box features a Rockchip RK3066 AMR Cortex-A9 dual core processor with ARM Mali 400 MP4 graphics, 1GB of RAM, and 8GB of built-in storage.

There’s also a full-sized SD card slot for extra storage, as well as 4 USB ports which you can use to plug in flash drives, hard drives, or other peripherals.

While the device supports 802.11b/g/n WiFi and Bluetooth 2.0 wireless connections, there’s also a 10/100 Ethernet jack which may provide a more reliable connection to the internet (and your home network).

The front-facing camera has a 2MP sensor and there’s a built-in mic which you can use to make video calls or record videos.

While the $145 asking price is higher than most other Android TV boxes with Rockchip RK3066 processors, it’s one of the few devices that comes with a wireless 6-axis Playstation 3-style game controller. It also comes with a TV remote control which you can use as an air-mouse by waving it around to move an on-screen cursor.

  1. This looks a little to good to be true, or maybe just too good to work very well.
