The Probox2 Mini PC is an Android TV stick with a dual-core processor and a wireless remote. Plug the box into your television and connect it to your WiFi network and you can use the Probox 2 to run Android apps, stream music and movies from the internet, play games, or surf the web on your TV.

It’s one of the better Android TV devices I’ve tested, thanks to decent WiFi performance and a sturdy case. It’s also always nice to get a model that comes with a remote — although I’d recommend plugging in a keyboard and mouse if you want to spend any serious time chatting, emailing, or even entering URLs for websites.

W2Comp sells the Probox2 for $90, but the company sent me one to test for free. Now that I’m finished with the device, it’s time for me to pass it on to a reader.

  2. Excellent news – This site is for sure the best site for Android mini PC related articles and reviews and now we can even win a small Android PC? Now that would definitely make my day. Keep up the good work 😉 Regards, John

  3. My husband wants one of these so bad! He’s paralyzed from the neck down and the voice control would allow him to control the television where he has difficulty using his hands to do.

  4. Thanks Liliputing for giving us the hope to have one of these very interesting devices

  5. I have wanted one of these for a while. I’m interested in putting Ubuntu on one and turning it into a dvr/mobile pc.

  6. Pick me! I’ve always wanted to try out one of these Android sticks 🙂 Thanks!

  7. Loving the explosion of Android sticks hitting the market recently. I’d love to have one in my hands to check it out for myself.

  8. I built my own streaming Nas4Free and this would go nicely with the whole setup.

  9. Awesome birthday gift if I win it my birthday is in May. Love your articles and reviews keep em coming.

  10. Wow.. I would love to have my first android tv stick.. Been reading liliputing, and I always wait for topics about android mini tv sticks.. Thanks for this opportunity, I hope that you would do more give always..thanks..

  11. Sure – would give to my parents to use at their home on their flat TV – dad was just told he had cancer (pretty bad version), their grand-kids been telling them to get a computer with Skype (but sure wish Jitsi had Android app – they are saying they will, so could avoid Skype), so this would be perfect for them to use (if can set up a camera easily)?

    1. Jitsi for Andriod is in Alpha, can download from

      https://jitsi.org/Main/Download
and try it out. Early, lacking some GUI features (but Jitsi has a lot of features. What we would be looking for, is encrypted video-VOIP that you can do wth regular Jitsi. Hmm, can this unit run the UBUNTU OS for Android? As Jitsi runs great on Ubuntu or Lubuntu (like LXDE best).

  12. Ive been looking for an android box to retro fit into my broken atari 7800

  13. I’ve been interested in this type of device to source HD streaming. These devices are solid but the availability of HD via Android apps seems lacking. Has anyone found an apartment I should be looking at?

  14. Nice device. In general there is a lot more open-ness needed from vendors, whether it is GPU IP providers, chipset makers or even android-pc makers. Still waiting for something which has proper hardware accelerated linux.

  15. Most posts have 1-5 comments, giveaways have 274 (at time of writing)!

  16. Liliputing is becoming my favourite tech news – not because of giveaways, but because it’s always covering devices I didn’t even know I was interested in until I read about them.

  17. Better wifi and handy remote makes this stick a attractive option. Wish to have one, as in my country, India, these products are launched late.
I started liking liliputing..their good reviews and now giveaway.

  18. I think these devices do truly have potential. Planning to make some sort of universal docking unit for these. Hopefully it’ll look something like the openpandora

  19. I’d try to get ubuntu running on it and run MPD to be a music playing daemon

  20. Whee! I love using these to blow my friends’ minds on a big screen with XBMC and games like Dead trigger. They can’t believe something so small can do so much. Don’t have one on of the newer dual cores tho…

  21. I own one, definitely a good device. Just Wifi reception a little weak, and remote range a little short. But very convenient and fast otherwise.

  22. This is my time! I want to win!!!! Or… die trying! And nobody want to pin a death on liliputing ;D

  23. I’ve been reading oyu review and seemsl ike a great device 😀 would love to win one

  24. CNN News: Android users will soon be able to unlock their devices using facial recognition. *Not available in China*

  25. Been holding out for these to come down in price before taking the plunge – this is about the best price I’ve seen 🙂

  26. I have been thinking of using one of these alongside a small screen to create a digital dashboard for my car. I especially like the fact that it has a remote and can possibly be integrated into my current stereo to serve as a media player.

  27. I ordered a new tronsmart and only an empty box got delivered! I got fooled 🙁 please cheer me up by giving me this 😀

  28. Wish it had the latest Rockchip RK3188. But I would love to give it a try and compare against Mk808B with Air mouse.

  29. Would be nice for the den, wonder if it can stream well with plex and splashtop.

  30. I just need it more than sex! (hope my wife would never read that).

  31. I was looking for android tv stick to test it..might be i will get it..thanks

  32. Alright! I’ve been wanting one of these, but I could never decide which one.

  33. I have been wanting the Probox2 ever since I saw the first review of it. It seems to have more features than any of the other Android sticks out there

  34. I think the Probox2 truly raises the bar compared to other Android sticks.

  35. I really enjoy Lilputing. Thanks for all the work you do. I’ve made many purchases based on your reviews.

  36. I assume Disqus gives you an email for properly entering… Or I’ve been wasting my time on all these contests! 😉

  37. Please pick me! I want to show my wife the wonders of Android.

  38. These Android Sticks are the biggest and Bestest things “since Sliced Bread”! 🙂

  39. I’ve been keeping up on these little guys for a while now- count me in!

  40. This is my Android TV stick. There are many like it, but this one is mine.

  41. I bought the first mk802 – worthless – would love a functioning android stick.

  42. I love your site and the product looks cool — I Hope I win the contest!!! 🙂

  43. The android mini PC craze has lit my imagination on fire. Please pick me and save me the 50 dollars it would take to win my own.

  44. Is your TV still a *CLOSED BOX*???
Then open it to the online world with *PROBOX2*!!!

  45. This would be nice to try for free but when is the Archos tv Connect launching? It looks like the real deal.

  46. I’ve been looking at these and this is one of the best ones out there! I want!

  47. Wouldn’t it be nice if after 40 years I could finally win something?!?

  48. It would be great to try one, even if it isn’t the fastest model out there right now 🙂
