Samsung recently unveiled the Galaxy Tab 3 tablet with a 7 inch, 1024 x 600 pixel display and a 1.2 GHz dual-core processor. It’s due out by the end of the month.

Now it looks like Samsung might have a slightly larger, slightly more powerful model in the works as well.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 (8.0)

SamMobile reports that a Galaxy Tab 3 8.0 is in the works, featuring an 8 inch, 1280 x 800 pixel display and a 1.5 GHz dual-core CPU.

The larger is expected to have a 4450mAh battery, Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean software, WiFi, Bluetooth, A-GPS, and optional 3G HSPA+ connectivity.

It’ll be available with 8GB to 16GB of storage, and like most other Samsung tablets, there’s a microSD card slot for additional storage, as well as front and rear cameras.

This wouldn’t be the first time Samsung released devices in different sizes, but using the same name. The Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 came in both 7 and 10.1 inch sizes, and the Galaxy Note family includes models with 5.5 inch and 10.1 inch screens.

Samsung hasn’t confirmed the existence of an 8 inch Galaxy Tab 3, but SamMobile says it’ll launch in June.

  1. I think the screen proportions look a little funny, don’t you?
