Apparently Android tablets with built-in game controllers is now a thing. A company called ibenX is showing off a new 7 inch gaming tablet galled the ibenX GamePad, and it clearly shares some DNA with the Archos GamePad, JXD S7100, and Tekniser Tek 807D.
But the ibenX tablet has a few features tha tmake it stand out.
First, it’s powered by an Allwinner A31 ARM Cortex-A7 quad-core processor with PowerVR SGX 544 graphics.
Second, it packs a 1280 x 800 pixel IPS display. With those specs, it looks better on paper than the Archos GamePad, which has a Rockchip RK3066 ARM Cortex-A9 dual core CPU and a 1024 x 600 pixel display.
But specs don’t always tell the whole picture, and we don’t know much about build quality, real-world performance, or how much the ibenX Gamepad will cost.
The tablet runs Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, has a 5MP rear camera, a 0.3Mp front-facing camera, and 1GB of RAM.
Video blogger Charbax has more details about the tablet (and an awful lot of other new products with Allwinner chips) in a YouTube video.
thanks Earl!

Zalu2!
Speaking as someone who owns a JXD S7300, I would say the thing to look at is the keymapping software used for the controls.
The original one for the S7300 was pretty lacking, but thanks to development folks like Tincore we have a mapping utility that can handle screen swipes as well as the standard stuff.
This tablet looks like it could really rock some newer console emulators as well as modern Android games. Darn nice specs.
Also, having front facing speakers is fantastic on a device like this. Even the cheap speakers in mine create a pretty decent stereo sound field when playing games or enjoying media.
a31(s?) probably means better battery too…
That thing looks huge and uncomfortable for longer sessions.
Maybe there is a telescoping monopod sticking out the back that we can’t see in the photo.
Or they shot it laying on it’s back for the promotional photos?
cheap chinese plastic would make it as light as a feather.
If the S7300 is anything to go by then have no fears cheap plastic is here.
No comfort problems gaming on mine.
