While Vizio’s upcoming 10 inch tablet looks like a top tier device with a bleeding edge processor, the company also has something new for folks interested in something a little smaller (and cheaper).

The new Vizio 7 inch Android tablet looks a lot like a Google Nexus 7 clone, featuring the same NVIDIA Tegra 3 processor and a similar 1280 x 800 pixel display.

The Verge reports the 7 inch tablet will have 16GB of storage, a 1.2MP camera, and Google Android Jelly Bean software.

According to The Verge, the tablet feels a bit smaller and the screen looks a bit better than the Nexus 7. But until Vizio spills details about the price, so it’s tough to say at this point which tablet represents the better value.

The Vizio 7 inch Android tablet should be available in the first half of 2013.

  1. For people who have studied the Nexus 7, it’s not just about price, seeing all the things people have been able to hook up to it and make it do. It would have to match those capabilities too.

    1. i’d buy this straight up if it had a SD card slot and maybe the price was lower since the Tegra 3 us pretty much last gen since Tegra 4 was announced.

      1. the Acer was promising until they messed with the specs to maximize profits.
If Vizio can release this with a low internal storage say 8GB, a decent sized battery and an SD slot for around $150-$175 they’d have my money.
I wanted to get the Nexus 7 but it wasn’t really much of an upgrade from my Nook Color in terms of sleekness or form factor so I decided to wait for a while.
