Velocity Micro is getting into the ultrabook market with the launch of the new NoteMagix U series ultrabook. It features a 14 inch display, a 6 hour battery, and sells for $800 and up.
There are actually three different Velocity Micro NoteMagix models. All three feature 1366 x 768 pixel displays, 4GB of RAM, WiFi, Bluetooth, and integrated DVD drives.
They also all weigh about 4 pounds, feature Intel Ivy Bridge processors, and are available with a choice of Windows 7 or Windows 8.
Here’s what sets the different models apart:
- NoteMagix U430: Core i3 CPU, 500GB HDD and 24GB SSD for $800
- NoteMagix U450: Core i5, 120GB SSD for $900
- NoteMagix U470: Core i7, 240GB SSD for $1100
The ultrabooks are already available for purchase, and I’ve got an appointment to check in with Velocity Micro at CES next week, where I’ll also have a chance to spend some time with the company’s latest tablets and other new devices.

they’re not going to sell very many with those specs at that price.
instead of $800,$900,$1100, it needs to be $450, $550, $700
