RikoMagic’s MK802 III is a tiny device with a USB port at one end and a USB connector at the other. You can plug it into any HDMI-capable TV or monitor to run Android apps on a big screen.

The MK802 III has a 1.6 GHz Rockchip RK3066 dual core processor, 1GB of RAM, and 8GB of storage. It ships with Google Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, but there are also early builds of Ubuntu Linux for this tiny, low power PC.

W2Comp sent us an MK802 III demo unit recently, and after I pulled it out of the box to try out the latest Rikomagic firmware, I reset the device and put it back in the box… so I could give it away to one of you!

How to win: Leave a comment by 5:00AM, 12/17/2012

All you have to do to win the MK802 III is leave a comment below and make sure I have a way to contact you. If your Disqus account is associated with an email address, that should do the trick.

If you sign in with Facebook, Twitter, or Google+ please make sure to check your messages after the contest ends. I’ve had to toss out winners in other contests because they didn’t respond to my messages alerting them that they’d won.

Here are the contest rules:

  • This contest is open to anyone, anywhere in the world.
  • Please leave only one comment on this post. I’ll discard your entry if I notice that you’ve tried to enter more than once.
  • Winners will be randomly chosen from all valid entries.
  • You’ve got 48 hours to respond after I contact you to let you know you’ve won. If I don’t hear back, I will pick a new winner.
  • Writers for Liliputing as well as their friends and family members are not eligible to win.
  • Anyone that’s won another Liliputing contest in the last 30 days is also not eligible to win.
  • If you’re in a country where taxes, duties, or other fees are applied to items shipped from overseas, you’ll be responsible for covering those costs on your own.

Thanks again to W2Comp for sending us this MK802 III. You can buy one yourself from W2Comp for $68.

  1. I wish to win

Rikomagic MK802 III Android 4.1 Mini PC.
    Use my email.

  2. I’ll have some of that. If you’re willing to send to the UK, I’m willing to pay postage.

  3. Is this a comment?…. sorry, it left it twice. Please delete one. 🙂

  4. Hey, I am getting a new TV soon, so this would be perfect for it 🙂

  5. lilputing site full of great reviews. Can’t wait to start hacking once I win this MK802. Anyone working on hacks to improve wireless connectivity?

  6. Allowing people all around the world to take part is a great idea 🙂

I dream of such a gadget for weeks, or months.

I would be eternally grateful 🙂

  7. This is a neat little device. I’ve got its twin, the UG802. I’m just hoping XBMC gets Hardware Accell working for these sometime soon.

  8. Really hope I win this one, this would be so cool to play with 🙂

  9. I want to use MK802 III to run a charity website! Please help to make a better world!

  10. Here goes nothing! Toss my name into the hat please…crossing fingers 🙂

  11. I think these little PC sticks are going to be the future of computing, especially in enterprise and education environments in which virtual machine usage is common.

  12. These things just keep getting better and better. If they could come up with a form factor that is plug and play with lapdocks you could upgrade your laptop every few years for just $70. I still have a Toshiba laptop (1999) sitting on the shelf that will still run ubuntu. In my experience the screen and keyboard easily outlast the processor and OS.

  13. Thankfully our computing devices continue to shrink, saving space and energy. Sadly we are still stuck with large screens that don’t travel well for performing actual work on. Smaller devices and the cloud makes it easier for us to travel with our data and machines.

  14. Never one anything contests/raffles like these in my life.. but I read liliputing everyday- so what the heck – this is my comment !

  15. sure it would be kinda bulky but i think it would be cool to pop it inside a notebook shell allowing you to upgrade your machine by simply popping in a self contained piece

  16. It’s a wonderful and powerful device. I’m sure ..MK802 III are many, many surprise for as. 😉 Respect by Romania!

  17. Hot damn. aside from wireless issues, (which won’t be that bad as my router is next to my TV), this is exactly what I want in an HDMI stick.

  18. Keep up the good work @ liliputing. I always find interesting stuff here.
    Thank You

  19. I have thought about, buying me a mk802II because i thinkt these are soo awesome. But if i would win this one, it would be great =)

  20. couldn’t decide between raspberry and mk802 and gk802 but i guess if i can get this free then i’m a happy man

  21. Well if this is random, does it matter what I write? As long as I do write something, right? 🙂

  22. I’d like this over my MK802 for the Bluetooth! … the off switch doesn’t really motivate me by itself …

  23. I’d like it too, please. I like the random, but games might be more interesting…

  24. Great contest – though now I just need to find another contest giving a way an HDMI tv … still rockin’ the component HD connectors in this house for now.

  25. I’m in. This would be a perfect match for my not at all smart TV.

  38. you should help out santa and give this too me so he has one less house to visit.

  39. This model represents a significant improvement over the previous one

  40. I use an MK802 II as a simple NAS. Just downloaded the Samba Filesharing app from the Google Play store, connected a small external HD, and now I’m flawlessly streaming to my jailbroken Apple TV! I would love to get my hands on a MK802III to play with 🙂

  41. Dear Brad, Lee, K.T. and the rest of the Liliputing team, I would like to have the MK802III mini computer to keep my MK802II company as it’s home all alone most of the day…Sincerely, Yet another huge fan of what you folks do….

  42. Please don’t DQ me. I thought I had left a message, but does not appear to have been logged here! Here it is (again?)

Would love to win one! Been on the fence about trying this!

  43. I would love to help with getting Linux (particularly Gentoo) on this. Now only if I had one.

  44. I’ve been trying to buy one of these for my dad for Christmas but there’s none in stock in the uk that can get it to me , if i order direct from china , it’d not make it in time .. maybe i can win one

  45. I keep looking at these and think a free one would be better than one I paid for!

  46. Really want to try one, but have been on the fence. Would be great if I won one 🙂

  47. This is my favorite so far. I have been jonzing for this for quite some time.

  48. I would love to win one of this 🙂 as i am in the market for one!

  49. Christmas is coming and I want a cool Android toy to play with! Puhleeeeeese?!?!

  50. jingle bells
    jingle bells
    jingle all the way
oh what fun it is to win
    RikoMagic’s MK802 III
    with just one comment 😀

lack of creativity goes together with the lack of money, just sayin’ 😛

  51. I want this for a grandmother’s TV for doing VOIP with grandkids.

They use Skype, but – where are the camera and microphone options?

  52. Pick me ……Pick me not……..It is gonna be awesome 1 month for me………Merry Xmas……

  53. Great specs for a nice little piece of Asian technology.
    Happy Holiday To All !!!

  54. Hmmm… yet another “TV stick” device… 🙂 It would probably be fun to have one, though.

  55. Ok, so far I’m 0 for 8 but i’m still hopeful….maybe if i post some random ramblings it will catch someones eye……

  56. Definitely looking forward to playing with one of these, please add me to the list 🙂

  57. Wonderful, this device looks great, nice video BTW. Hope to be the lucky one :). Marry Christmas all!!!

  58. Thanks! I’m in for one and keep up the great site. I get lots of good info from you on new mobile tech!

  59. Ah, what the heck. I may complain about them, but I am a sucker for these little Android stick PCs. Please enter me into the drawing for this item. Thanks.

  60. This is a fun idea to generate comments! Good idea mate!
These sticks are a hot idea with a lot of potential. The killer stick will be the one that can get deals for content, like Roku, but for more streaming. We’re waiting for the cable-box killer. Also think they all ought to jump to quad-core right away, like Cotton Candy to give them a couple years of usefulness.

  61. My atrix lapdock really could use an upgrade like this, considering I’m using the actual phone in the dock right now, and it’s slooooooow.

  62. Well finally a internacional giveaway. I really wanna win this device. Actually looking for a Android tv stick I had found out about this site. Besos from Spain 😉

  63. Sure, how about sending a Canadian some love, eh? 🙂 I’d love to see if this can completely replace my HTPC.
