The Chuwi V99 is an Android tablet with a 1.6 GHz Rockchip RK3066 processor, 1GB of RAM, and Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean software. But it’s the display that makes this tablet stand out.

It features a 9.7 inch, 2048 x 1536 pixel display. Apple uses a similar screen in the latest iPad models, but the Chuwi V99 is one of only a handful of Android tablets to feature this Retina-style display.

Chuwi V99

PandaWill sent over a Chuwi V99 which I reviewed recently, and while it’s not the fastest tablet I’ve ever tested, it’s a reasonably good device for the $269 asking price. But if you want to get your hands on this tablet without paying a penny, all you have to do is enter our contest.

How to win: Leave a comment by 5:00AM, 12/24/2012

Leave a comment below to enter this contest, but please make sure to read the rules. You’ll also want to make sure I can contact you by signing into Disqus with your email address, Facebook, Twitter, or Google+ account.

Here are the contest rules:

  • You need to be in the continental US to win. International shipping is expensive and  since this box weighs more than a pound, I’m limiting this contest to US residents only.
  • Please leave only one comment on this post. I’ll discard entries from anyone who tries to submit multiple comments.
  • I’ll pick a winner randomly from all valid entries.
  • Once a winner is notified, that person has 48 hours to respond. If I don’t hear back within that time, I’ll pick another winner.
  • Anyone that’s won another Liliputing contest in the last 30 days cannot win again so soon… so please don’t bother entering again if you’ve already won something recently.

Thanks again to PandaWill for sending us this review unit — and for agreeing to let us give it away!

And as our Liliputing 2012 holiday giveaway draws to a close, I wanted to extend my thanks one more time to W2Comp, Diamond Multimedia, AndroidTVBox.us, and Norhtec for supplies us with goodies to give away.

  1. I love this blog and read it every day. Thanks for the chance to get some goodies for Christmas.

  2. If you take a bite out if it, I’m sure it’s more crucnhi than Chuwi. *rim shot*

    I’m in for an entry!

  3. At last, a good chance to enjoy the holidays. Many thanks to generous Liliputing. Keep up the good feeling!

  4. I purchased another RK3066 device (the UG802) and am really impressed at the speed. Interested in seeing how well this tablet works in real world usage.

  5. I bet apple’s drafting a lawsuit as we speak, lol. Gorgeous device though, would love to own one.

  6. Interesting tablet. Not sure how apps that are not optimized for this high res display will look, but if it’s free I’ll take it.

  7. I just want to be able to read long reports without giving myself laptop cancer. It’s not too much to ask in this day and age, is it?

    Cheers!

  8. If I win this one I’ll run 6 miles naked with but a sock on my “appendix” and post it on youtube.

  9. I’d love to try this. Even if I don’t like it, my mom might finally have a way to get E-mail and Hangout with the grandkids…that would be pretty epic 🙂

  10. I am in 🙂 Will you please let us know, when are you going to declare winners?

  11. astounding that a device could drive all those pixels at any kind of decent speed for that price

  12. If You choose me, I am more than willing to pay for postage :)) as I am from UK :((( Merry Christmas and Happy New Year everyone! Xxx

  13. SHOOOOOOWWWW MEEE THE CHUWI!! Liliputing : You’ll come for the giveaways.. You’ll stay for the articles. I would love to win this tablet as I’ve never seen anything on a Retina display, let alone anything on a display higher than 800 by 480. And that was on a gingerbread polaroid tablet where the wifi antenna broke. Thank you Brad and liliputing and pandawill for giving this tablet away for the holiday season. 😀

  14. This is the best of the giveaways so far. It would be worth not winning any of the others just to get a chance to win this one.

  15. Looks great especially battery life and performance. Compatibility issues are easy to overlook for a giveaway tablet. Thanks for holding the drawing

  16. Have to say, better than I expected. Seems to be a decent tablet for the price point.

  17. This looks interesting. I have an iPad 2 but I would like to try an Android tablet.

  18. I promise if I win this tablet to scour XDA-Developers forum until I have found every possible cool thing that can be done with this device. Inevitably it will end up belonging to one of my kids 🙂

  19. As I said before these giveaways keep getting better and better. Love to win this.

  20. I never win these kinds of things, but that tablet looks damn cool. So why not, I’m in!

  21. By the way, has anyone said thanks for sharing all the goodies with us? Well, thanks! And happy holidays to all.

  22. It’s amazing how sleek computers have become – I remember the old green screen ones, and I’m still in my 20s! Love to win this one.

  23. That tablet looks great! Thank you for your posts throughout the year and for keeping me up-to-date with the latest liliputing news.

  24. Thanks for the nice review, this could be a decent upgrade to my nook color running CM7.

  25. (sigh) I didn’t win the last one despite the great odds. Last chance? I’ll take it.

  26. Wow, I love the resolution and screen size! Plus not having to carry around a laptop is a huge plus!

  27. I posted this earlier on the wrong page, “Please sir, May I have just one. The lump of coal was nice but I’d realy prefer a tablet.”

  28. Wow. That could be a handy little gagdet to have….
    I’d love to have it.
    Please…

  29. This is my last chance to win. As of my entry, the odds of winning is 1 in 218, which is way better chance than that of last Powerball’s lottery of 1 in 175 million. 🙂 Let me be the one this time. Merry Christmas, Liliputing!

  30. Thank you so much for the chance! I hadn’t heard of the Chuwi before reading this review. The display is great.

  35. Toss my hat into the drawing! I could use a nice display to go with my RPI! 🙂

  36. Wow IPS screen would not be bad. I would love to test how the rockchip would hold up with that screen

  37. Thanks for the chances to win this great stuff. One more try before Christmas.

  38. Winning this would be a great start to 2013 for me and my better half because I would give her my tablet (I wanted to buy her one but can’t afford to because I’m saving to move overseas with her) and we could both tablet in bed together.

Good luck to all entrants and Happy Holidays!

  39. I haven’t been having the best of years, but I have nothing to lose, so I figure I might as well try my luck.

  40. could be fun :).. send it my way, it may not be the speediest tablet out there but it sounds shiny…

  41. The comments that people are leaving below are awesome. I have one of these already, but I wouldn’t mind winning another to give to my kid brother. Thanks.
