Chinese device maker ZTE may be preparing to launch a new smartphone running Microsoft’s Windows Phone operating system. There’s nothing unusual about that… until you get a look at the phone itself. It reportedly has a 5.9 inch, 1920 x 1080 pixel display.
CNBeta reports ZTE’s marketing chief posted a photo and some details on Chinese site Weibo. The phone also reportedly features DTS audio.
If true, the device would be one of the larges phones on the market, taking the throne from the Samsung Galaxy Note line of Android handsets.
Microsoft hasn’t yet announced support for phones with 1080p displays, so it’s possible that this is a fake… or that something is getting lost in translation. But with phones getting larger and larger, I wouldn’t be shocked to see ZTE (or another company)Â try to launch one like this with a screen nearly 6 inches across.

There are already a number of 6″ android phones out, though they’re mostly put out by obscure Chinese manufacturers using lower-end hardware. https://www.google.com/search?q=6+inch+phone
Personally, I say the bigger, the better, and they’ll sell if there’s a market for them. I mostly use my phone for forum browsing, gaming, and watching videos, so a 6″ phone would really come in handy for me. That said, I know large phone’s aren’t to everyone’s tastes.

You can’t get any closer to 6″ than 5.9″, now can you?
Unless you try to point out that “someone” is Microsoft itself.
Anyway, I’m curious to see how it feels/looks in my hand. But I guess bluetooth handset is mandatory on this one.
I was referring to *this* ZTE phone… the point is that we don’t actually know if it’s real, but I wouldn’t be surprised if it is.
