Chinese electronics maker Zenithink’s newest Android tablet is one of the first devices to ship with a 1.2 GHz quad-core Freescale i.MX6 processor. The Zenithink ZTPad C94 features a 10.1 inch display and it can run Android 4.0 or Android 4.1 software.

A handful or sellers are already offering the tablet at AliExpress, with prices starting below $200.

The tablet has a 1024 x 600 pixel display, front and rear cameras, and a 5600mAh battery which the manufacturer says provides up to 6 hours of run time while surfing the web or watching videos.

It also features a USB 2.0 OTG port, HDMI port, and support for Ethernet using a microUSB to RJ45 cable.

The Zenithink ZTPad C94 has 1GB of RAM and will be available with 8GB to 32GB of storage. The tablet measures 9.9″  x 6.5″ x 0.47″ and weighs 1.3 pounds.

This isn’t the first tablet I’ve seen with Freescale’s new quad-core CPU. But it’s not just a clone of the AMPE A10 tablet, since that model has a higher resolution 1280 x 800 pixel display.

  1. Dear Folks,

By the way, I don’t have a problem with the 1024×600 display if it’s well done. I have a Zenithink C91 that is just beautiful to view.

In your review of the Ampe A10 Quad Core tablet there were some fairly significant problems that you described.

I have been using a little older tablet by another manufacturer-this is an Upgraded Zenithink C91. I have also seen several other tablets from the same model run, and have been impressed by the build quality of all of them and resold all of them with the exception of the one I own. I have had opportunity to try Zenithink’s service department through a US dealer also. This was very good, and was handled entirely in the US! I’ve also needed support in the form of firmware and flash upgrades. There have been several of these, all the way from Android 2.3 to 4 iterations of Android 4.03. All of these came directly from Zenithink’s web site. Of course there have been quite a few developed on Slatedroid as well.

The problem I have revolves around the fact that Zenithink its marketing a tablet built around the same Quad Core processor found in the Ampe tablet you reviewed. Their tablet lacks some features found in the Ampe, but I expect that they will rectify this in the next few weeks. I’d buy the Ampe tablet right now, but I can’t find anything on the web regarding the manufacturer, and their service and support. I do know about Zenithink and have good reason to trust them. Can you give me any info that I can use to help me with whether to purchase a tablet with lesser capabilities which may be improved right away, but has a manufacturer who has good service and support, or to purchase a tablet which may, or may not be of a higher quality and increased capability, and an unknown record of service and support?

Thanks for your help with this.
