Fujitsu’s Arrows Tab of waterproof tablets has been around for a little while. The company likes to show them off in fish tanks at trade shows.
Now the company is introducing its first Arrows Tab designed for Windows 8. The Fujitsu Arrows Tab QH55/J is set to launch in Japan on November 2nd.
The tablet features an Intel Atom Z2760 Clover Trail processor, 2GB of RAM, and a 64GB solid state disk. It has an IPS display — but Fujitsu isn’t saying how big the screen is. My money’s on 10.1 or 11.6 inches. It’s expected to get up to 10.5 hours of battery life.
The Fujitsu Arrows Tab QH55/J has a dustproof and waterproof design. While I wouldn’t recommend actually using it underwater, it should be able to survive a brief outing in the rain.
Fujitsu also calls the device the thinnest Windows 8 tablet that’s waterproof (although I’m not aware of any other companies making waterproof Windows 8 tablets). It measures 0.39 inches thick and weighs less than 1.3 pounds.
