Bookeen is introducing its 6th generation eReader, the Cybook Odyssey HD FrontLight. As the long, (but descriptive) name tells us, it’s en eReader with a high resolution, front-lit E Ink display for reading in poorly lit (or dark) rooms.
The Cybook Odyssey HD FrontLight will be available in Europe starting in November.
Bookeen’s eBook readers may not be as well known as the Amazon Kindle or B&N NOOK Tablet. But the company makes relatively decent eReaders with unusually fast screen refresh rates.
The new model adds a front-light as well as a higher resolution 6 inch, 758 x 1024 pixel display. That means the eReader has 213 pixels per inch.
The Odyssey HD Frontlight also has an anti-glare capactive touchscreen and a new user interface for navigating through books and menus. There’s also a new reflow option for viewing PDF files.
Booken’s new eReader weighs about 6.4 ounces, which is about an ounce less than the Amazon Kindle Paperwhite.
