The 8GB Google Nexus 7 tablet is out of stock at the Google Play Store, but now you can pick up a 16GB model for $199.99… at least at Office Depot. The retailer is also now selling a new 32GB model for $249.99. That’s about the same price the 16GB model used to sell for.
Newegg is also selling a 32GB model for $249, as is Walmart.
I suspect the Play Store and other retailers will soon update their produce listings as well.
Google had scheduled an event in New York today where the company was expected to introduce new Nexus phones and tablets and unveil Google Android 4.2. The event was postponed indefinitely due to Hurricane Sandy, but Droid Life reports that it looks like Office Depot went ahead and launched a slightly upgraded Nexus 7 anyway.
Aside from the additional storage, there doesn’t seem to be anything else unusual about the new tablets.
Google is also preparing to introduce a model of the 7 inch Android tablet with support for 3G. There’s no word on how much that model will cost or when it will be available.
So procrastination does work to one’s benefit sometimes!
The 32 GB version was available last Thursday at the Office Depot near my house.
Omg, $20 tablet to revolutionize the third world?!
