Amazon started taking orders for its new Kindle models last week. Now the Kindle Fire HD 7 is in stock, and customers who pre-ordered should start to receive their tablets today.

Amazon Kindle Fire HD 7

The Kindle Fire HD 7″ tablet has a 1280 x 800 pixel display, a 1.2 GHz TI OMAP 4 dual core processor, 1GB of memory, and a starting price of $199.

The tablet comes with 16GB to 32GB of storage, but the 32GB model won’t ship until October 25th.

Amazon also added HDMI output and volume buttons — two features that the original Kindle Fire doesn’t have.

Speaking of the original Kindle Fire, it’s gone. Sure, you can still find refurbished models on eBay and elsewhere, but Amazon has replaced that tablet with a new model that has a faster processor, 1GB of RAM, and better battery life.

The new Kindle Fire costs just $159, and it’s also now shipping.

If you’re holding out for the Kindle Fire HD 8.9, you’ll have to keep holding on for a while. That tablet is available for pre-order for $299 and up, but it won’t ship until November 20th.

The 8.9 inch model has a 1.5 GHz OMAP 4 dual core CPU and a high resolution 1920 x 1200 pixel display.
