Samsung has moved more than 10 million Galaxy Note devices since the company launched the smartphone earlier this year. Now the company is preparing to launch the next generation of its smartphone with an enormous display and an included stylus.
Earlier this month we heard that Samsung would introduced the Galaxy Note 2 at the Samsung Mobile Unpacked event on August 29th. Now Samsung has all-but confirmed that with a new teaser video featuring German film director Wim Wenders.
The video focuses on how easily Wenders (or anyone) can create art based on inspirations they see in the world around them… presumably by pulling a powerful mobile device out of their pockets.
We don’t get a good look at that device, but there are a few brief scenes showing a digital pen sliding out of a gadget, and someone using that pen to draw on the screen.
So… I guess it looks like Samsung didn’t decide to drop the digital pen. Other than that, we don’t really know much about the Galaxy Note 2 yet, aside from the fact that it will probably be introduced a little over a week from now at Samsung’s event on the eve of the IFA trade show in Germany.
I also wouldn’t be surprised to see a faster processor, and I’ve heard rumors that the next version of the already-too-big-to-fit-in-some-pockets phone might have an even larger display.
