The Sony Reader PRS-T2 is an eBook reader with a 6 inch touchscreen E Ink display. It looks a lot like Sony’s last eReader, but it’s a little smaller and Sony has replaced the physical buttons below the screen with what appear to be touch-sensitive buttons.

J&R is taking pre-orders for the PRS-T2 for $130 — about the same price as the older PRS-T1 eReader.

Update: The order page has been removed.

Sony PRS-T2

The eReader can run for up to 2 months on a charge, and Sony says the battery can be fully charged in about 2 hours. Battery life drops to 6 weeks with WiFi on.

It features 1.3GB of available storage for eBooks including TXT, PDF, and EPUB books with support for Adobe DRM. There’s also a microSD card slot for up to 32GB of additional storage.

The Sony PRS-T2 measures about 6.9″ x 4.4″ x 0.4″ and weighs about 5.9 ounces.

  1. i wonder what is the difference with the PRST-1 that i got? same numbers really……..
anyway it’s the best E-reader ever!!!! no joke.
    ^____^°°°recommend it to anyone!!!

    1. It’s slightly smaller, thicker, and swaps the hardware buttons for a touch-screen (but still the same e-ink tech). Those are the only differences. Pretty lame “update.” But it *is* Sony – they’re bleeding cash too hard right now to dump any into hardware development.

I’ve never used any eReader besides my Nook SimpleTouch with GlowLight, and I absolutely love it. Wouldn’t change a thing about it. It’s about the same price as these Sony readers.
