The Cube U30GT is a 10 inch tablet with a 1.5 GHz Rockchip RK3066 dual-core ARM Cortex-A9 processor. It hit the streets this summer, and retailers are now offering the tablet with prices as low as $196 (or $204, or $209).
This week the makers of the tablet have released a software update which brings Android 4.1 Jelly Bean to the Cube U30GT.
The folks at ArcTablet have also built a modified English-language version of the firmware.
Android 4.1 brings a smoother user interface, improved notifications, keyboard improvements, and other changes. But the software update also adds a new picture-in-picture video player which lets you keep a video on screen even when you’re running another app.
Samsung includes a similar always-on-top video player called “pop up player” with the Samsung Galaxy S III smartphone and Galaxy Note 10.1 tablet.
