Asus Eee Box EB1030 Cedar Trail nettop on the way

06/29/2012 at 5:22 PM by Brad Linder Leave a Comment

Asus introduced its next-generation of small form-factor PCs at CES in January. Now it looks like the company is almost ready to start shipping new Eee Box mini-desktops with Intel Atom Cedar Trail processors soon.

The folks at Notebook Italia spotted a listing for the Eee Box EB1030 on the Asus website.

Asus Eee Box EB1030

The nettop features a 1.86 GHz Intel Atom D2550 dual core processor, Intel GMA 3600 integrated graphics, up to 4GB of RAM, and up to 500GB of hard drive space.

It features 4 USB 2.0 ports, a memory card reader, VGA, HDMI, audio, serial, and Ethernet ports.

The little computer measures 219 x 172.5 x 29 and weighs 0.690. Asus offers an optional VESA mount kit that you can use to attach the computer directly to the back of a TV or monitor. It also has a 40W power adapter — it doesn’t need anything more powerful than that thanks to its low power Intel Atom processor.

At the same time, you shouldn’t really expect bleeding edge performance out of a system with an Atom processor and integrated graphics.

Asus will also offer an Eee Box EB1031 model with a slightly faster 2.13 GHz Atom D2700 dual core CPU, and an EB1033 model with NVIDIA GeForce GT610 graphics.
