Asus and BlueStacks have announced a partnership that will allow users to run Android apps on a Windows PC. If you’ve got an Asus computer with the asus@vibe app store, you’ll be able to download the BlueStacks App Player for PC and Android apps starting June 4th. That should cover most Asus computers released in the last few years.

The service will be free for the first 6 months, after which it looks like users may have to pay to continue using all features.

A few days ago Asus posted a few videos teasing some sort of Android and Windows integration. It looks like rather than releasing a specific dual-booting device, Asus is making Android apps available for all its Windows computers — but I wouldn’t be surprised to see future notebook, desktop, and tablet computers ship with BlueStacks preloaded.

That would certainly increase the number of apps available for upcoming Windows 8 tablets. Currently there are hundreds of thousands of touch-friendly apps available for Android, but just a few hundred touch-friendly Metro-style apps for Windows 8.
