The MSI Wind U270 notebook is a thin and light laptop with an 12 inch display and AMD processor. Last year’s model came with a 1.65 GHz AMD E-450 dual core processor and 6320 graphics.

Now MSI is introducing a new model with a slightly faster model with a 1.7 GHz AMD E2-1800 chip and Radeon HD 7340 graphics.

MSI Wind U270

The new Wind U270 is expected to ship in Japan on May 18th, making it one of the first laptops to ship with AMD’s new Brazos 2.0 dual core chip.

AMD’s new processor is a low-power 18W chip that has the same 40nm core as the E-300, E-350, and E-450 chips. But the new integrated Radeon HD graphics core should offer better graphics performance.

The laptop will ship with Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit, 2GB of RAM, and a 320GB hard drive. It has an 11.6 inch, 1366 x 768 pixel display.

The Wind U270 features HDMI output, a USB 3.0 port, 2 USB 2.0 ports, audio and Ethernet jacks, a flash card reader, 802.11b/g/n WiFi, and Bluetooth 2.1. It has a 6 cell battery and measures 11.7″ x 7.5″ x 1.2″ and weighs 3.1 pounds.
