AOC is probably best known for making PC monitors. But last year the company also introduced an 8 inch Android 2.1 tablet. Now it looks like a 9 inch Android 4.0 tablet is on the way.
The AOC Breeze MW9022 tablet showed up today at the FCC website. While it doesn’t have the most powerful processor, the tablet does have an awful lot going for it.
The new tablet has a 9 inch, 1280 x 800 pixel capacitive touchscreen display, a 1.2 GHz ARM Cortex-A8 processor, and 1GB of RAM. It will be available with 8GB or 16GB of built-in storage. There’s also a microSD card slot for extra storage space.
While the AOC Breeze MW9022 doesn’t have one of those newfangled dual or quad-core chips that are all the rage these days, a 1.2 GHz Cortex-A8Â CPUÂ should be fast enough for most day-to-day tasks.
The tablet also has a higher resolution display and more RAM than most budget tablets.
It also features a 5MP rear camera, 2MP front-facing camera, 802.11b/g/n WiFi, and HDMI output. The tablet has a 7000mAh battery which AOC says should provide up to 6 hours of video playback time or 7 hours of run time while surfing the web over WiFi.
The tablet measures 9.5″ x 6.4″ x 0.5″ and weighs a little under 1.4 pounds.
I haven’t found any details about the release date or price, but all devices with wireless capabilities need to pass through the FCC before they can go on sale in the US.
