Acer is rolling out a minor update to last year’s Aspire One 722 notebook. While that model featured and 11.6 inch display and AMD C-60 processor the new Acer Aspire One 725 features… the same screen size and processor.

There are a few improvements in the new model including 4GB of DDR3 memory instead of 2GB and Bluetooth 4.0 instead of Bluetooth 3.0.

Acer Aspire One 725

Notebook Italia and Netbook News.it have details about the Italian launch of the new laptop.

It will be available in July for 359 Euros. US pricing isn’t yet available.

The Aspire One 725 has an 11.6 inch, 1366 x 768 pixel display, 1 GHz AMD C-60 dual core processor, Radeon HD 6290 graphics, and a 320GB or 500GB hard drive. It will be available with Windows 7 Starter or Windows 7 Home Premium and comes in black or blue colors.

In addition to 802.11n WiFi and Bluetooth 4.0, Acer will also offer 3G options.

The laptop measures 11.2″ x 8″ x 0.9″ and weighs 2.6 pounds with a 4-cell battery.

With all the attention ultrabooks are getting, it’s nice to see that Acer is continuing to release cheaper thin and light computers.

US pricing for the new model may not be available yet, but I’m going to go out on a limb and predict that Acer will charge significantly less for a computer with a plastic case and a slow AMD C-60 chip than it does for an ultrabook like the Aspire S3 with an all-metal case and Intel Core i5 processor.

  1. This laptop from reviews on other sites has a High Def Webcam, don’t know what sites don’t see this as an important inclusion, everyone does videoconferencing these days. Why have a nice HD screen and then stick in a 0.3 megapixel cam, anyways at least they are learning !

  2. If only Acer didn’t discontinue the 11.6″ TimelineX series with Intel Core ULV CPUs.

  3. It looks like the keyboard is different with space between the keys, more of a true chiclet style keyboard unlike their current generation keyboards.
