Japanese company Unitcom has added a new thin and light ultrabook to its Lesance notebook lineup. But it’s not the size that makes the LesanceNB S3431/L stand out — it’s the price. It goes on sale this weekend for a starting price of just 59,980 yen, or about $730.

LeSance Ultrabook

That makes it one of the cheapest ultrabooks around, and it’s an even better price when you realize that notebooks are typically priced higher in Japan than in the US.

But if you happen to be in Japan, here’s what you get for the money:

  • 14 inch, 1366 x 768 pixel display
  • Windows 7 Home Premium
  • Intel Core i5-2467M processor
  • 64GB SSD and a 500GB hard drive
  • Intel HD 3000 graphics
  • 4GB DDR3 memory
  • 802.11b/g/n WiFi
  • 3 USB 2.0 ports, VGA, Ethernet, and SD card reader
  • 13.1″ x 9.1″ x 0.75″
  • 3.6 pounds

The company promises about 5 hours of battery life.

While there’s no indication that we’ll ever see the LesanceNB S3431/L in the US, hopefully the reasonably low price tag on this Japanese ultrabook is a sign of things to come from PC vendors around the globe.
