Gigabyte has introduced a new multimedia docking station designed to work with the company’s S1080 and S1081 Slate PCs. The dock includes built-in speakers, a DVD drive, and a range of ports to extend the capabilities of Gigabyte’s 10 inch Windows slates.
The Gigabyte S1080 slate features a 10.1 inch, 1024 x 600 pixel display and a 1.66 GHz Intel Atom N570 dual core processor. The S1081 is a newer model with a 1.86 GHz Intel Atom N2800 dual core chip.
Gigabyte’s new D1080 docking station includes:
- 4 speakers (stereo dual channel speakers and 2 sets of woofers)
- DVD Super Multi dual-layer drive
- HDMI (for the S1080 only)
- 3Â USB 2.0 ports
- RJ45 Ethernet jack
- D-sub, mic, and headphone jacks
- Extended battery connection port
The docking station measures 9.6″ Â x 6.1″ x 3.4″ and weighs 1.6 pounds.
The D1080 docking station should be available next week for around $169.
