Freescale Smart Mobile Device Pundit

Chip-maker Freescale wants to know who your favorite mobile tech journalists or bloggers are. For the second year in the row, I’ve made the top 20 list, but unlike in 2011, this year Freescale is giving out just 5 awards.

If you appreciate the mobile device coverage you’ve read on Liliputing over the last few years, you can vote for me at Freescale’s website.

In fact, you can vote up to once a day between now and February 8th. Or you can vote for some of the other top journalists in this space, including Joanna Stern from The Verge, Sascha Pallenberg from Netbook News, James Kendrick from ZDNet, or Kevin Tofel from GigaOm Mobilize.

Win or lose, it’s an honor to be in such great company — although there are plenty of excellent tech journalists who also didn’t make the cut.

  1. Congratulations, Brad. Wow, this really was a horse race. Hard to believe that 6 or 7 votes made the difference between 3rd and 5th place.  But all  are very worthy, and it’s certainly an honor to be nudged out of third place “by a nose” by Joanna Stern and be in the top 5 in the world.

    1. Thanks Doug. Well, to be fair, I’m pretty sure Joanna could have knocked Sascha down a few pegs if she’d posted on The Verge. As it is, she posted a few times on Twitter and came out way ahead of the editor in chief of Engadget.

      Go figure.

Anyway, it’s good to know that enough of you care about Liliputing to vote early and vote often!

  2. Done.  Brad covers what matters to me, this is always my first stop.  I’ve even taken advantage of several of his deals of the day.

    Thanks Brad!

  3. Let’s get busy folks–this has turned into a horse race!!! If you’re like me Brad has saved you scores of hours looking up device specs, hacking procedures, etc. It’s time to show your appreciation. Be sure to vote every day and get your friends to vote every day–just don’t vote more than once a day by using additional devices or accounts… that wouldn’t be fair.

  4. Brad, I see you’ve nestled your way right between two good looking women. You sly dog you!
Seriously, congrats on cracking the top 5!

  5. Maybe consider keeping this article on your homepage for a while, I promise I won’t consider you narcisistic. I’m willing to vote for you everyday, but if the article falls off the main page, I cannot promise that I won’t forget, I’ve got a lot to keep track of on a day to day basis. Great reporting though, Liliputing really is my number one source for tech news that I genuinely care about.

    1. That’s why I put the banner in the sidebar on the right side of the page. 🙂

If I don’t catch up to Nate in a day or two maybe I’ll sticky the post, but I usually like to show the freshest news at the top of the page.

  6. Thanks everyone! I felt a little silly posting this in the first place, but everyone needs a little ego boost every once in a while and you guys rock!

We’re up to number 6 and counting, and if y’all remember to vote more than once (you can vote once a day) I’m pretty sure we can make the top 5.

Again, it’s all in the spirit of friendly competition. I respect the heck out of the people in that top row right now. But I wouldn’t mind knocking one or two of them into row 2. 🙂

  7. You got my vote bro. You are the best. Infact, I have been reading your sites for years now. Also would like you to know, I appreciate all your effort and sweat giving us excellent reporting.

  8. 완료 = Done!
Liliputing is and has been my first read of the day for a long time now.

  9. Come on people — let’s show our support for our man, Brad. I follow a lot of tech journalism sites and I always look forward to reading Liliputing first because it always has exactly the kind of news I’m looking for. I know I can’t be the only one.
