Acer is starting to show off an upcoming Android tablet with a quad-core processor and 1080p HD display, but the company hasn’t gotten around to officially giving the tablet a name, release date, or price yet.

At today’s press conference Acer flashed a single product slide for the new tablet, and had a demo unit on display. It’s one of the first 10 inch tablets that can not only play 1080p HD video, but display every single pixel without relying on an external display.

Over the past few weeks we’ve seen some details about a product called the Acer Iconia Tab A700 which seems to have a 1920 x 1200 pixel display and NVIDIA Tegra 3 quad-core processor. All signs point to this being that tablet.

  1. A 10 inch tablet with a HD screen?  Excellent!  Let me hand over the money.  Now, if only I could buy a netbook with this screen!
