Acer’s next Android tablet will go on sale in the on January 15th for $329.99 and up. The Iconia Tab A200 is a 10 inch Android tablet with a 1280 x 800 pixel display and a 1 GHz NVIDIA Tegra 2 dual core processor.
The tablet will initially ship with Android 3.2 Honeycomb, but Acer plans to offer a free upgrade to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.
For the most part the A200 looks fits the mold of a 2011 tablet. It has the same screen resolution, processor, and operating system of virtually every big name tablet that was released last year, and it looks a bit bland by 2012 standards. But the Iconia Tab A200 does have one thing going for it: a relatively low starting price.
Acer’s first 10 inch Android tablet, the Iconia Tab A500, had a starting price of nearly $500. You’ll be able to pick up an A200 with 8GB of storage for $329.99. A 16GB model will run $349.99.
The tablet has a 2MP front-facing camera but no rear camera. It also has a full-sized USB port, a micro-USB port, and a microSD card slot.
Acer is also rumored to be developing an Iconia Tab A700 tablet with an NVIDIA Tegra 3 quad-core processor and 1080p HD display.
