The Fusion Garage Grid 10 is a tablet with a 10 inch display and an unusual operating system that’s based on Google Android. It has a custom home screen, web browser, and suite of applications, but the tablet can run many Android applications. It sells for $299.
Fusion Garage introduced the tablet in August, but it actually showed up at the FCC website in July. At the time there wasn’t much information about the tablet, because the user manual and photos were protected by confidentiality agreements… but those expired on November 30th.
Now you can visit the FCC to read the manual or to view a series of photos of the tablet — including pictures of a dissected Grid 10 tablet.
The photos demonstrate that it’s not the Grid 10’s hardware that makes it stand out. It has a 10.1 inch, 1366 x 768 pixel display, a 1 Ghz NVIDIA Tegra 2 dual core processor, 512MB of RAM, and 16GB of storage.
There’s also a 22.57Whr battery that takes up more space inside the case than anything else. You can also find photos of the memory, flash storage, and wireless cards at the FCC.
And the question that (not many) people are asking is: have any of these things actually been sold? Or is it another JooJoo-style flop? From the reviews I’ve seen, it deserves to be…
Significantly there is no action around this on xda-developers or SlateDroid – I’d guess they haven’t found many buyers at all.
