Lenovo K2 tablet with NVIDIA Tegra 3

There’s not much doubt at this point that Lenovo is working on a new tablet with a quad-core processor. Engadget scored some details (and photos) of the upcoming tablet last month, and then some leaked benchmarks hit the web.

Now DigiTimes reports we may not have to wait much longer for the tablet to hit the market. Taiwanese equipment maker Pegatron has reportedly been contracted to build the tablet, with production scheduled to ramp up in January.

Pegatron may also build tablets for Acer and Toshiba next year.

The upcoming Lenovo tablet will likely have the model number “K2,” which means it will probably the successor to the Lenovo IdeaPad K1. It’s expected to have a 10 inch display, an NVIDIA Tegra 3 quad-core processor, up to 2GB of RAM, and Google Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system.
