HP may not be selling the TouchPad anymore, but the company continues to push software updates for the tablet. The folks at PreCentral received word that a release candidate for webOS 3.0.5 is now available for participants in the webOS Early Access Program.
For the most part, this will be a bug fix release. Updates include:
- HTML5 video will work in all screen orientations.
- A double-space will be placed after a period.
- Low disk space alerts
The update will also have a new sensor API for applications designed using the PDK, and a few other bug fixes and improvements.
In other words, you probably shouldn’t expect a huge performance boost or any major changes in the operating system, but it’s nice to see that HP is continuing to offer updates for folks that haven’t decided to give up on webOS and run Android on the TouchPad tablet.
