It’s a good time to add some digital music to your collection. Google and Amazon are offering thousands of albums for $5 or less. Google Music is holding a “blowout sale” on millions of MP3s and albums in the Android Market, while Amazon is running a “Fuel your Kindle Fire” sale with over a thousand albums selling for $5.
I also spotted a few great deals on portable hard drives and USB flash drives on this day after Christmas, as well as a pretty nice deal on a refurbished first-generation Barnes & Noble NOOK eBook reader.

Ah, so that is a big difference, since you have less control over the music.
I guess that means that those cached songs from the Google store aren’t found locally if you open other music players on that device, like happens if you download them from the Amazon store.
I do like the web interface and functionality better on the Google player, including the revolving carousel. The uploading experience is better I found as well with the google store.
I should do my homework. While it was initially difficult to download tracks from Google Music, it looks like the company changed that when rolling out music purchases.
You can download tracks in a web browser or using the Google Music desktop client. It’s a bit clunky, but it works.Â
