A new notebook called the Eee PC 1225B showed up on the Asus website this weekend. While there are few official details about the laptop, the model number suggests a machine with a 12.1 inch display and an AMD processor.
In other words, we’re probably looking at the successor to the Asus Eee PC 1215B which was released earlier in 2011.
The folks at Notebook Italia also found a few retail websites that listed additional details. I’d take these with a grain of salt, but it looks like the laptop could have a 1.65 GHz AMD E-450 dual core processor and Radeon HD 6320 graphics, 4GB of DDR3 memory, and a 500GB hard drive as well as USB, VGA, HDMI, WiFi, Bluetooth, VGA, and HDMI.
I wouldn’t be surprised to find the Eee PC 1225B on display at the Consumer Electronics Show in January, although there’s no word on how long it will be before the new laptop hits the streets.
When I read “portable notebook” in your headline I chuckled.  It made me think of what the opposite would be like – In my minds eye I see a a “room sized” or “flatbed truck movable ” notebook.
Happy Holidays Brad, and thanks for all you do to give me news each week. Â
Heh… it’s tough figuring out what to call some of these guys… it’s clearly not a netbook… but it’s not an ultrabook. So… umm… yeah. 🙂
It’s not a 17 inch, 7 pound gaming laptop either..
Thanks for sticking around. It’s seeing familiar faces (or screen names) in the comments month after month that makes me feel like Liliputing isn’t just my little soapbox, but an actual community!
This one and the 13.3″ with 2xUSB3 looks good:Â
